DJI Osmo+ Handheld Gimbal with 4K Zoom Camera
The DJI Osmo+ Handheld 4K Zoom Camera and 3-Axis Gimbal combines mobility and stability in one system. It shares many of the features of the original DJI Osmo Handheld 4K Camera but also sports 3.5x optical zoom and 2x lossless digital zoom (note that lossless zoom only works when shooting at 1080p). Instead of the fixed 20mm (94° field of view) lens, you can now enjoy a 22-77mm (92° - 35º FOV) lens with a maximum aperture of f/2.8 at the wide end and f/5.2 at the telephoto end. The Osmo+ also simplifies the motion time-lapse functionality with an easy start/stop mark that puts the camera into moving time-lapse recording mode automatically. Advanced stabilization keeps the Osmo+ more still than ever no matter how you move it, even during live streaming, and the improved battery life allows you to shoot up to 114 minutes (compared to 60 minutes on the original Osmo). With the DJI Go App, you can monitor footage with your smartphone (which you can connect directly to the gimbal with the included phone holder) and also monitor zoom control. This system sports 3 motors so that the Osmo+ can be panned over a 320° range, tilted down 35° and up 135°. It can pan or tilt at a rate of up to 120° per second. This handheld system is ideal for adventure shooting, travel, and immersive sports shooting.
Notes
The Osmo+ can be tethered via WiFi to a smartphone with the DJI Go App on iOS and Android.
A 16GB microSD card and reader is included. If you need a larger capacity card, please rent separately the 64GB microSD Extreme Plus. The Osmo+ requires microSD cards at Class10 and UHS1 or above.
The maximum accepted microSD capacity for the Osmo is currently 64GB.
The longest available photography exposure time is 30 seconds in manual mode.
Batteries from the original DJI Osmo Handheld 4K Camera will work in this camera but not as effectively because they have a smaller overall capacity (1,225mAh compared to older 980mAh). If renting spare batteries, the DJI Osmo High Capacity Intelligent Battery is recommended.
A fully charged battery allows for shooting up to 114 minutes. It takes approximately 110 minutes to fully charge the battery.
The Osmo+ is not waterproof.
The Osmo+ uses the Zenmuse X3 Zoom, which is a variation of DJI's Zenmuse Z3 but they are not interchangeable.
The Osmo+ will mount to the Osmo Z-Axis but the Osmo+ is heavier so the Z-Axis balance would have to be adjusted.
The use of the on-board microphone is not recommended for anything more than scratch or reference audio. Fan and motor noise will be audible. For high quality audio capture, an external microphone or separate audio recording setup is recommended and is not included.
